Te Reo Takiwa o Tautoko was an aggregate exertion of Iwi, from nearby hapu and whanau, to set up a Radio Station as a method for offering voice to the general population inside of the Hokianga and encompassing groups and as a guarantee to the restoration of Te Reo me ona Tikanga.
Built up in 1983 Te Whare Awhina o te Iwi Community Trust turned into the spine to the goals of the nearby Iwi.
Being the first Maori Broadcaster in Te Taitokerau and driven by sheer determination and energy and now and again despite seemingly insurmountable opposition the vision turned into a reality.
