Sydney is the headquarters of 2GB, but this radio station is widely listened-to all over Australia. According to various sources 2GB station had around 15% of the total radio ratings share in 2010.
It was established in 1926 by Theosophical Broadcasting Station Pty Ltd. Since then it changed its frequency several times and now it is available on 873 KHz, AM. The number 2 in its name refers to the postcode of the state New South Wales which also starts with 2. The two letters GB refer to Giordano Bruno who was admired by Theosophists.



It is a commercial radio station with main focus on news and talk. 2GB radio station covers all aspects of social life including politics, business, sport, health and entertainment.
