Salt FM is a listener supported urban contemporary gospel radio station broadcasting 24 hours a day on the internet from 2 studios in the United Kingdom. The station is an arm of Verity Training and Consultancy Services which delivers access technology training to visually impaired clients.

Salt FM was birthed as a result of a privileged encounter between DJ Jhyde and God Almighty on the eve of his 29th birthday - October 30 2000 to be precise. God wanted him to turn everything over to Him: his time, talent and skills, In the instruction, it was clearly stated that he should initiate a radio station which was to be called Salt FM because God has made us the salt of the Earth as written in the book of Matthew chapter 5.

Between that time and October 2010 when Salt FM UK went on air for the very first time, DJ Jhyde started with the leading of the Holy Spirit investigating on how to bring this calling to life. Being blind, it was important that he could managed the studio and eventually an accessible studio was fused together in his bedroom and he was able to broadcast to a single listener over the internet on the 29th of October 2010. That single listener was DJ Jhyde.

The studio has since moved out of DJ Jhyde's bedroom into his living room, and then to studio spaces in Plumstead and Abbeywood, London United Kingdom, At the moment, other visually impaired individuals have the opportunity to broadcast independently from these studios. Salt FM UK’s listenership has also grown over the years in different countries around the world whilst also receiving numerous award nominations globally and winning awards in Atlanta, USA; London UK; Birmingham UK to mention afew.
